Breakdown & Advantages
Strength: Strength is required for almost everything you'll need to do. It effects your battle endurance, how much weight you can lift, and how much damage your attacks do.
The amount of weight you can lift (in pounds) is the value of your strength stat multiplied by 2. I.E: If your strength is 25, you can lift 50 pounds.
The more strength you have, the longer you can outlast your opponent, the more power your attacks have, and the stronger your defense is. A difference of 5 is needed for significant difference. A difference of 10 causes pain to your opponent if your physical attacks meet. A difference of 30 and your physical attacks cause damage and pain even if your opponent blocks them. A difference of 50 or more, and your physical attacks are strong enough so that your opponent trying to fend you off with their body is useless.
Reflexes: This effects both how fast you react, how fast you dodge, and how fast you can attack.
10-20 and your reflexes are nothing special. 30-50 and you're reflexes allow you to react at surprising speeds. 60-100 and you're movements are ninja like (much like how Lan-Fan and her grandfather can move in Brotherhood and the Manga).
Craft Skill: This stat effects how well you perform at your chosen craft, or in some cases, how well you use your special abilities.
Because this does not have to apply to fighting, point advantage matters very little.
-In the case of Alchemy the higher this stat is, the more complex transmutations you can perform. 10 and under, you can perform simple featureless transmutations. 20+ you can perform transmutations with simple features (Ex. Simple transmuted weapons, and rough details). 30+ you can perform moderately detailed transmutations (Ex. More complex weapons like the ones Ed uses, doors, simple structure etc...). 50+ and your transmutations are faster. Over 60 points and your transmutations can be very detailed, and even move if they aren't too large. After this point, every 20 stats you gain allows for one super-transmutation, that can either create a large item, a large structure, or a larger moving transmutation that can be used as an attack. (By the time this stat is maxed, you will have a total of 2 super-transmutations.)
-In the case of the Homunculi's special powers, the more points you have for this stat, the more powerful that ability is. 20 and under is novice, 40+ is Adept, 60+ is Expert, and when this stat is maxed (100) you are a master of the special skill.
-In the case of special skills applying to Humanoid Chimeras, the more points you have, the better honed the skill. 20 and under is novice, 40+ is Adept, 60+ is Expert, and when this stat is maxed (100) you are a master of the special skill..
-For those without Alchemy or special abilities, they may choose one aspect of combat that they excel in, whether it be marksmanship, melee weapon combat, or hand-to-hand combat. When performing combat in your chosen field, you gain a temporary stat increase for your Combat Skill. Novice (20+): 5 Extra points to Combat Skill. Adept (40+): 10 Extra points to Combat Skill. Expert (60+): 10 Extra points to Combat Skill, and 5 Extra points to Reflexes. Master (100): 15 Extra points to Combat Skill, 10 Extra to Reflexes.
Combat Skill: How well you fight, one-on-one. This stat governs how well you apply your mind and other stats to combat.
A difference of 5 points and you have a slight advantage in battle experience. A difference of 10 and your battle instincts are enough to make predictions on your opponents moves every 5 posts. A difference of 30 and your battle instincts are good enough to successfully feint your opponent twice in 3 posts. A difference of 50 or more and its like a bull fighting a sheep.
